iRacing Blog – 2/16/15 NASCAR Continues to Sanction iRacing, Shootout, Daytona 500

Exciting news released Friday, 2/13. NASCAR will continue to sanction iRacing for the next six years. Read more about this here.

Tuesday 2/17 is the iRacing Shootout prior to the start of the NASCAR PEAK Antifreeze Series on 2/24. This is a 40 lap race for the top 20 drivers from the 2014 NPAS as well as the top 5 Pro drivers from the 2014-2015 Pro series. Justin qualified for this race by finishing p. 10 in last season’s NASCAR PEAK Antifreeze Series.

This coming weekend iRacing offers drivers the chance to race the Daytona 500. There will be several for drivers with at least a Class C license and fields will be set by each drivers’ iRating. This is the start of the NASCAR iRacing Series that follows the NASCAR Sprint Cup schedule. These races run every week for drivers again set by each drivers’ class license and iRating. These races are separate from the NASCAR PEAK Antifreeze Series that will run every other week starting 2/24 for those drivers who have achieved the WC license and PRO license and who are racing for the Championship. Justin currently holds a Pro/WC license with the max safety rating a driver can have of 4.99 and an iRating of 8381.
