Round 2 of the iRacing 2016 NASCAR Peak Antifreeze Series was Tuesday, 3/1/2016, at Atlanta Motor Speedway. They would race 167 laps. Justin qualified p. 7, led 25 laps, and finished in the top 10. There were 5 total cautions, 3 in the first half and 2 yellows at the beginning of the second half of the race. The caution at half way occurred during green flag pit stops and caught Justin back in p. 23. He stayed out after the last caution to take the lead and held onto the lead for 6 laps before the tires started to fall off. Tire fall off was huge with a good 2 seconds difference. Justin used some more strategy and came in early for fresh tires on the last green flag pit stop to gain some ground and finished the race p. 9. You can watch a replay of the race on YouTube here. Next week iRacing will put out a new build on the cars adding the new downforce. The next race will be 3/15/2016 at Phoenix International Raceway.
Round 1 out of 16 races for the iRacing 2016 NASCAR Peak Antifreeze Series was last night 2/23/2016 at Daytona. Justin was on the Pole for the start of 100 laps around the superspeedway. He led the first 10 laps and stayed within the top 10 throughout the majority of the race until lap 81. The first caution flew on lap 52. Justin came in for tires and fuel. Lap 81 saw the cars at the front of the field including Justin pit for tires and fuel during green flag pit stops. Cycling back around teammate Cody Byus and Justin were leading the pack that would gain control of the race once the other cars went in for fuel. However, none of those cars came in gambling on fuel and Justin’s pack was left running in the back when the last caution of the race came out causing a GWC to the end. On the restart, there was a pile up with Justin finishing in p. 23. Definitely not a finish that showed how strong of a run he had during most of the race. You can watch the race on YouTube here. The next race will be at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Tuesday, March 1, 2016.
Tuesday, 10/6/2015, was the last race of the season for the iRacing 2015 NASCAR PEAK Antifreeze Series at Homestead Miami Speedway. This was Justin’s second season of competing with the top SIM racers in the world. After 15 races this season, Justin had 3 poles and 8 Top-10 finishes. With a few races this season of running out of luck and being in the wrong place at the wrong time, Justin came into the final race of the season sitting 7th in overall points. Starting on the outside pole with teammate Cody Byus on the inside, Justin was running strong up front. Half way through the race during a green-flag pit stop, a car spun bringing out the yellow catching Justin and Cody a lap down. With 80 laps remaining, Justin drove his way through the field to finish p. 14. Justin driving the #36 Alliance Garage Doors / C.H.I. Overhead Doors car completed the 2015 NASCAR PEAK Antifreeze Series with a Top 10 finish in 9th place overall. He is the second member of the TEAM to finish in the Top 10 with teammate Kenny Humpe winning the Championship. Both are guaranteed spots for next year’s Series. Without the funding to race the stock cars in 2015, we were able to pull together enough money to bring out the Legend car for some racing. Justin continues to prove that he has the talent behind the wheel. After not racing the Legend car on an oval track for over 3 years, Justin jumped right back in and was up to speed within the first practice. In 5 races, Justin had all top 5 finishes in the Pro Division with (1) win, (2) 2nd place, (1) 3rd, & (1) 4th place. The next race will be the US Legend Car Nationals held at Anderson Motor Speedway in SC November 12 – 14, 2015.
Round 12 of the NASCAR PEAK Antifreeze Series on 8/11/2015 was 50 laps around the 2.45 mile road course at Watkins Glen International. Justin qualified p. 10 and kept the Alliance Garage Doors / C.H.I. Overhead Doors car in the top 10 the entire race. The road courses on iRacing take complete concentration for the entire race due to the fact there are no cautions. The only break the drivers get is the one green flag pit stop for 4 tires and fuel half way through the race. It’s 50 laps of left and right turns with no errors to keep your position. Justin finished p. 9. Watch the race here.
Bolton is Back . . .
You can’t keep a good driver away from the track. Friday, 8/7/2015, Justin brought out the #99 Legend Car again to run atAnderson Motor Speedway in SC. It had been over 3 years since Justin was behind the wheel of the Legend Car at an ovaltrack. However, you would never know that. After a couple practice runs Friday morning, Justin was up to speed as if he had been driving all season. A small rain shower came through later in the afternoon that delayed the start of practice and qualifying by an hour. Justin would line up p. 3 out of 17 cars for the race. It was 20 laps of green flag racing. Justin kept the #99 in 3rd until, with two laps to go, Justin made the pass to finish 2nd. It was a fun day being able to see Justin behind the wheel again with Farbo Motorsports. See the in-car video from the race here.

Round 11 of the NASCAR PEAK Antifreeze Series was 7/28/2015 for 100 laps around Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Justin was unable to set a qualifying time for the race due to internet issues at his apartment. He was forced to start p. 39. Starting in the rear, Justin steadily moved up through the field into the top 15 dodging several wrecks in the process. However, with 20 laps to go the luck ran out and Justin was again in the wrong place at the wrong time and was clipped sending the Alliance Garage Doors / C.H.I. Overhead Doors in the inside wall. After a very lengthy pit stop to fix the extensive damage, Justin was able to get back out on the track to finish the race in p. 31. Watch a replay of the race here.
NASCAR PEAK Antifreeze Series Kentucky Speedway
Such an up and down season so far in the NASCAR PEAK Antifreeze Series. Coming back from the break, Round 10 was 167 laps around Kentucky Speedway. The race on 7/14/2015 saw Justin qualify p. 6 and keep the Alliance Garage Doors / C.H.I. Overhead Doors car in the top 10 for the entire race. With the one and only caution happening early on lap 52, the race came down to fuel mileage. On June 16, Round 9 of the NASCAR PEAK Antifreeze Series went 125 laps around the 2 mile track at Michigan International Speedway. Justin would start the race in p. 5 and keep the #36 Alliance Garage Doors / C.H.I. Overhead Doors car in the top 5 for over 100 laps. After the second caution on lap 52 there was some hard 3-wide racing on the restart with Justin able to maintain a top 5 position. At lap 80 Justin took control of the 2nd spot behind leader and teammate Kenny Humpe. Drivers were able to make green flag pit stops at lap 89. Two late cautions, however, set the stage for an unfortunate incident with a 3-wide battle after starting p. 2 on the restart on lap 105 that ended Justin’s night. The p. 38 result doesn’t show the dominant run Justin had at Michigan. The TEAM again proved their hard work onthe setup of the car is keeping their drivers running up front each race and with Kenny Humpe taking another win in the series.
